I apologise that I haven't featured the guest post from the team yet. I still haven't got the photos, but am working on it.
In other news, the St Mary's Juba Link has now been registered for online donations at Just Giving, so if anyone fancies it then click here or the logo below and you'll be pointed in the right direction.
James and David are junior doctors who graduated from Southampton, UK in 2006 and for the past two years have been working in St Mary’s Hospital, Isle of Wight.
We’ve been involved with the conception of the Juba link from the beginning and are excited by the opportunity to be the first medics to work in Juba from the project.
Our main objectives from this 4 month trip are:
To establish and secure the ongoing St Mary’s link in Juba by identifying and ironing out any of the logistic difficulties associated with living and working in the Southern Sudan
To provide extra medical help for the doctors already in Juba Teaching Hospital, including involvement in ward work, teaching, clinical audit, m&ms, grand rounds and journal clubs
To assess the feasibility of meeting foundation programme requirements in a developing world context
